Raytech Product Engineering

Raytech engineers address functionality, structural integrity, wear resistance, and manufacturability. The depth of professional engineering resources at Raytech enables the team to meet product engineering requirements.

Mechanical Design

Raytech's engineers design components and assemblies to balance such factors as strength and weight, with manufacturing cost, ease of assembly and other considerations. Specifications are developed and tolerances are specified to provide manufacturers with the information deeded to create durable products at reasonable manufactured costs.

Engineering for Manufacturing

Engineers create detailed three-dimensional computer models of parts and assemblies using the latest industry-standard 3D CAD software. The 3D CAD files include manufacturing-related features, such as draft on injection molded parts, or sheet metal relief cutouts. The models are used to generate prototypes, production tooling, and presentations.

FEA for Structural & Thermal Analysis

To confirm strength and stability of designs, Raytech engineers conduct analyses of product behavior under specified and/or anticipated forces and conditions, including temperature. Through the analyses, the engineering group determines and/or guides a product’s modes of failure, safety factors, deflection, etc.

Value Engineering

Raytech's engineers monitor your project to achieve the most value for your manufacturing dollar. The manufacturing team evaluates total "In the Box" cost of product, including: parts, assemblies, packaging, labor, and shipping.

Material and Process Selection

Raytech helps clients select materials and processes based upon functional requirements, environmental conditions, regulatory considerations, aesthetics, and production volumes. Designs are then customized for selected materials and processes.

Mold Flow Analysis

Our manufacturing experts can reduce time to market by recommending key tooling and molding setting parameters including gating, venting, cooling, injection and clamping pressures, and cycle times.
